Soul Care

 ren·o·vate
  1. restore (something old, worn out) to a good state of repair.
    • refresh; reinvigorate.

“If you watch your step on the Sabbath
and don’t use my holy day for personal advantage,
If you treat the Sabbath as a day of joy,
God’s holy day as a celebration,
If you honor it by refusing ‘business as usual,’
making money, running here and there—
Then you’ll be free to enjoy God!
Oh, I’ll make you ride high and soar above it all.
I’ll make you feast on the inheritance of your ancestor Jacob.”
Yes! God says so! - Isaiah 58:13-14

Let's face it, one of the most neglected parts of our everyday lives and our existence is our souls. We run ourselves ragged by just simply trying to keep up with day-to-day tasks such as kids, jobs, homes, and even church. When was the last time you slowed down or even stopped long enough to care for your soul? While we love the action at the heart of Isiah 58, let's not neglect the final command of the chapter to keep the Sabbath and allow God to refresh our souls.

Throughout the year at Re3, we attempt to offer a time of rest outside of our weekly Sabbath worship gathering as a way to renovate our souls. Sometimes these events are geared toward a specific group such as a men's, women's, or youth retreat, while other times they are designed with everyone in mind. These Renovate events are always opened to the community and kept as affordable as possible.
